Two-terms is enough for most and it would be political damaging to ask for more,especially since the President is not involved in repealing amendments. Also, since that amendment was ratified, no president but, maybe, Eisenhower had even a remote chance of being elected to a third term,and Eisenhower was in poor health when he completed his second term.
