It is worn staggered on the outside of your MOPP suit or JSLIST over your right bicept, left cuff (Easily seen when firing or holding weapon) and right ankle for the right handed. If you are left handed, it goes on your left bicept, right wrist, and left ankle. These 3 points have been determined by the US Army to be most likely places to brush up against foliage or other places that may have liquid contamination. I have had soldiers ask me if it is ok to wear it on the outside of their regular uniform, as apposed to their chemical suits. My response was that if your concerned enough with a possible threat that you would be wearing M9 tape to begin with, you should be fully suited up in the first place. (BE CAUTIOUS WHILE USING M9 TAPE AND ALAWAYS WEAR CHEMICAL GLOVES AS IT CAN CAUSE CANCER IF IT IS IN FREQUENT CONTACT WITH BARE SKIN!) (M9 tape is not commonly used anymore because in addition to its cancer causing properties, the common soldier is no longer in the typical vegetated area to see results. The tape also does not tell you what the contaminate is, only changing random colors, causing you to have to verify with M-8 paper anyway.) SSG JUSTIN WARE WVARNG.
