The Supreme Court decision to end mandatory school prayer in the 1962 case Engel v. Vitale was primarily influenced by the judicial philosophy of justices appointed by both Democratic and Republican presidents. At that time, the Court's majority included justices appointed by Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The decision reflected a broader interpretation of the separation of church and state rather than a specific partisan agenda, although the political landscape surrounding the issue has since evolved.
prayer was not taken out of school, please pray in school as much as you feel necessary while people may try they can never take away your right to talk to our Creator
I have a debate on prayer in school. For or against. So I needed to know if possible, the statistics, about violence before and after prayer was taken out of school. Go Here: http://whatyouknowmightnotbeso.com/graphs.html These graphs show different statistical information based on the affects from prayer being banned out of school.
His prayer was "Father forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing".

The bible was taken out of the public schools in the United States in 1963. The decision followed one a year earlier that disallowed a prayer in the New York public schools. The reasons given in both instances referred to the First Amendments prohibition on establishment of a religion.
The Supreme Court ruled that school-sponsored prayer, including the recitation of the Lord's Prayer, violated the First Amendment's Establishment Clause, which prohibits government endorsement of religion. As a result, organized prayer was deemed unconstitutional in public schools to maintain the separation of church and state.
Madeline Murray O'Hare But, it wasn't a campaign to remove prayer from schools. It was a campaign to remove FORCED prayer from schools. Anyone who wishes to may pray in a public school, really. This is totally legal and constitutionally protected. What was not constitutionally protected was having teachers or school officials conduct a prayer session. To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever seriously attempted to make praying in a school illegal.
Prayer in public schools is unconstitutional because of separation of Church and state.
The Lord's Prayer is taken from Jesus' example of a prayer. You can find it in Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:1-4. It is "how you should pray" Hope that helps. :)

what high school classes should be taken in high school to be a RN
This answer is biased and incorrect. Being Christian or not being Christian doesn't teach one to be more honest or know right from wrong. Morality is not based on Christianity, in spite of those wanting to teach such. Prayer and Bible reading were never taken out of school; simply the school CAN NOT sponsor such activity or force students to participate. Those who have read this legal filing are aware of this or simply refuse to acknowledge it, as it's a simple way to stir up problems and make unfounded accusations against the Schools or School boards. Students, themselves, can have Bible studies or prayer times but it is done after school.
