One consequence of a president doing something wrong is a drop in approval rating. If the president is still in his first term it can hurt his chances of reelection. If the offense is serious enough he could face impeachment, which is a means by which the Senate puts him on trial. There the senators will vote on whether to remove the president from office. This require at least two thirds of all senators to vote in favor of removal from office.
Two presidents in U.S. history have been impeached: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. In both cases there were not enough votes to remove them from office. Richard Nixon was also threatened with impeachment, but resigned before it could go through and was later pardoned by his successor, Gerald Ford.

There is no new president if the vice president dies Wrong. Just because the president and the vice president die, does not mean we will not have a president. Someone has to run this country of we would be in complete chaos. It would more than likely be the speaker of the house. And if that doesn't happen, then we would re-elect.
