In 1808, James Buchanan was expelled from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, for rowdy behavior; he promised he would settle down and act more appropriately and he was subsequently readmitted. He graduated with academic distinction.
Woodrow Wilson was either expelled or would have been if he had not dropped out if the University of Virginia law school. James Buchanan was told not to come back to Dickinson College after his first year but they relented and he was allowed to graduate with his class.
According to the New York Times (nytimes.com), Harrison Ford was expelled from Ripon College 3 days before graduation for not completing a required thesis. According to the Dickinson College web site, James Buchanan, 15th President of the United States, was expelled from there for discipline issues.
