FDR was elected to four consecutive terms of office as President of the United States. He is the only US President to serve more than two terms. (FDR died on April 12, 1945 before completing his last term).

In 1951, the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution placed a limit of two terms on the Office of President. Therefore, FDR's record cannot be broken (unless, of course, the 22nd Amendment is repealed).
