marines use FPO-AP's
APO indicates either an Army or Air Force post office. FPO indicates a post office used by Navy or Marines.
Your recipient will give you an FPO or APO address that includes the zip code for the appropriate section of the facility, so that your recipient can receive USPO mail. Every FPO or APO zip code is different. APO = Army or Air Force Post Office; FPO = Fleet Post Office.

APO = Army Post Office FPO = Fleet Post Office, they are how most military personnel get their mail.
Because all mail destined for APO/FPO addresses is sent priority (or should be, to almost guarantee delivery) it would depend on size + weight of the mail being sent. You can ship to APO/FPO via regular USPS mail, but again, it depends on your size and weight of the item being sent. If it's just a letter, you should be okay with just a regular stamp of the current stamp price.
You have to enter AP (or AA or AE for other military addresses). If those options are not available in the dropdown menu, it usually means that the shipper does not serve APO/FPO addresses directly.
You would have to have their FPO address. The US Military uses APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) to deliver mail. This allows you to send mail to military people without knowing where they are, preventing the enemy from knowing about troop locations and movements.
To an APO or FPO it will be between 10 days and two weeks,
FPO is usually a US Navy address or "Fleet Post Office"
It's the US address for this location: US Army Base, Hohenfels, Germany. It's located in Europe, but for the military to have an "American" address, APO is the country and AE is the state.

Ex: Col. & Mrs. Franklin Ashford note: if they live on a base with no home delivery , use the APO ,FPO, PSC or other box address as proper for the Colonel's branch and place of service .
