In 1904 Alton B. Parker was the Democratic Party candidate and Eugene V. Debs ran on the Socialist Party ticked. Theodore Roosevelt won the election. He ran again in 1912 as a Progressive against Woodrow Wilson of the Democratic Party and William J. Bryan, Republican and Debs as a Socialist. Wilson won.

Also on the ticket was the first negro presidential candidate from Lacrosse, WI by the name of George Erwin Taylor. Taylor was a member of the National Liberty Party. For more information, check out the new book:
