Second, to this day, only 1 woman, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, has recived a Medal of Honor for her many act's of bravery at a MASH unit.

Mary Walker became the first (and only) woman to receive the US Medal of Honor in 1865. She was a surgeon during the Civil War. The medal was rescinded in 1916 when the Army purged its files to reduce what they thought were "unwarranted" issues of medals. It was reinstated in 1976.
