Why did president Johnson choose not to seek reeling 1968?

the public was already against the war and very angry with Johnson. he was in a very stressful situation in the Vietnam War that he could not handle. he later died of stress related heart condition.

He had lost some of the early primaries and Bobby Kennedy , who would have been strong opposition was thinking about competing for the nomination, He had completed the rest of John Kennedy's term as well as his own term, so he decided to step aside.
