science can explain where the world came from and how humans evolved without any reference to god. this may lead some people not to believe in God or not to be sure (agnostism/Atheism). As they believe that if god exists he must have created the world as said in chapters 1and 2 in genesis. And that he must be the only explanation of the world. The scientific explaination does not have a reference and is proof to some people that god does not exist.
It also shows that the universe is not eternal therefore god is not, but this is meant to be one of God's qualities.
Most of the points science make do not fit in with The Bible , as he could not have created matter to make light before the sun for example. The bible is meant to show( at least for conservative christians) how God made the universe how God intended (his apostles were meant to be taking notes from what god tells them) but if this is so why write down the creation of the universe incorrectly and later to be proven that it was impossible to create a universe this way ( if taken literally).
People living in the Philippines are very superstitious but are not oblivious to scientific explanations. Many believe in superstitions but will work around them based on the scientific knowledge that is available.
Yes, a lot of people still believe in superstitions, despite clear and contradictory evidence (or rational explanations for the origin of a superstition).
Gods are invented by humans to explain things they have no answer for. The progressive development of knowledge about these unknowns from scientific understanding has increasingly reduced the need to have gods and religious explanations.
There may be other explanations besides God as we have no proof of His/Her existence...
Possible explanations for the mysterious sounds in the sky reported by people around the world include natural phenomena such as atmospheric conditions, seismic activity, or wildlife sounds, as well as human-made sources like industrial activities or military exercises. Some people also speculate about extraterrestrial origins or supernatural causes, although these are not scientifically supported explanations.
Before the Enlightenment and Scientific Revolution, people commonly explained natural events through myth, religion, and superstition. These explanations often involved attributing natural events to the will of gods, spirits, or supernatural forces. Observations and explanations were frequently based on beliefs passed down through cultural traditions rather than empirical evidence or scientific inquiry.
Many people believe in dowsing because they do not believe in the supernatural. Scientific studies conducted on dowsing indicate that it does not work.
People want to feel secure in the idea that things happen for reasons. When science cannot explain things, they often turn to things that are not scientific to provide explanations. Also, even great scientists believe things many rational people cannot accept, but the fact that people cannot accept them does not mean they are not true. Belief in God is one example, and some people call it a superstition, while others, no less intelligent or rational, believe.
Naturally, people want to find explanations to everything, so when there's a storm, or lightning strikes, what better to believe than the gods are angry? Some people also believe in a creator that is beyond petty emotions like human anger.
Scientific reports? No. Since 1933 Nessie sightings have been reported quite regularly. There are three possible explanations for these reports: 1) Nessie really does exist, and the sightings are evidence of this; 2) People overly eager to believe the legend are interpreting any unusual movement or shape in the water as Nessie; and 3) people are lying about what they've seen.
I believe that people should stop using animals for scientific use
