It's different for everyone. Some people want to become commissioned for the power and the benefits (Have you ever seen Officer Quarters compared to the barracks!?!?!). Others are more of natural leaders than followers. I want to become an officer because I feel I could do more for my country and fellow soldiers there. I am more open minded than most, but can remain in a "Officer and NCO" relationship. I've always been able to lead a group of people and end conflicts. I discovered this in high school when my friend pointed out that I was like the Godfather of the group. Always watching over them, willingness to take a punch for them, making sure to end conflict before it got too serious and if it was absolutely necessary, let them bout it out. There is no specific answer to your question, it's all about why YOU want to be commissioned.
