Silver melt value is $12.51. The numismatic value is a different story. In case you didn't know, numismatic means any value other than it's metal. Depending on it's details it may be less or more valuable. If under the 9 in 1829, you can see the remains of a 7, then it will be more valuable in extremely fine condition. To determine it's condition, you will need to know the following details:

These prices are from 2004 so you may want to do a little more research on the coin to find out its current value. Also, these are if there is no 9 over a 7. The numbers are the grade number. Also

Good 4- Date and Letters are clear but worn smooth with outline destinct: $35

Very Good 8- LIBERTY visible but faint. Legents distinguishable. Clasp at shoulder visible. Curl above nearly smooth: $35-50

Fine 12- Clasp and adjacent curl clearly outlined with slight details: $50

Very Fine 20- Clasp at shoulder clear. Curl has wear on highest point. Hair over brow distinguishable: $60

Extremely Fine 40- Clasp and adjacent curl fairly sharp. Brow and hair above distinct. Curls well defined: $90

About Uncirculated 50- Trace of wear on hair over eye, and over ear: $225

Uncirculated 60- No trace of wear. Light blemishes. May have slide marks from storage handling: $525

If you would like to do a Google search on this coin here is what you should type in: 1829 capped bust liberty half dollar.

My best recommendation for finding out more about this coin is to see a dealer. I know some dealers personally but since I do not know where you live, I suggest looking for ones near you on Google maps.

Good luck finding out more!
