During the Ice Age, Alaska was characterized by vast expanses of glaciers and tundra, with cooler temperatures and a landscape dominated by ice. The region was part of the Bering Land Bridge, which connected Asia and North America, allowing the migration of animals and early humans. Flora and fauna included woolly mammoths, saber-toothed cats, and large herds of caribou, thriving in the harsh, cold environment. As the climate warmed, glaciers receded, transforming Alaska's landscape into the diverse ecosystems we see today.
During the Ice Age, Native Americans are believed to have crossed over the Bering Sea via a land bridge known as Beringia, which connected present-day Siberia in Asia to Alaska in North America. This migration occurred when sea levels were lower due to glacial ice accumulation, allowing for human and animal movement between the continents. This crossing facilitated the settlement of the Americas by these early inhabitants.
They came about 1000 years ago by crossing the land bridge connecting siberia to alaska. When the glaciers (it was the ice age) melted the landbridge submerged and they were isolated in america.
During the last Ice Age the ocean level dropped so much that a corridor of dry land emerged between Siberia and Alaska, where the Bering Strait is today. this allowed people from Asia to walk across.
Some scholars think that people migrated from Asia to North America during the ice age because the Bering Strait (the narrow body of water between Asia and North America) during the ice age became shallower which made the land underwater uncovered which formed a bridge between Asia and North America.
They believe a land bridge existed between what is now Russia and Alaska. Sea levels would have been lower at the time due to the amount of ice on land.
Alaska lacked the moisture for total glaciation cover. See link below for more detail.
During the last Ice Age.
Some people think that the Indians came from Asia during the ice age and ended up in Alaska and moved south.
The ice age caused the area between Russia and Alaska to freeze into ice that people could walk on but the Asian hunters also followed the bison to the Americas for food
During the Last Glacial Maximum, an ice sheet covered most of North America from Texas to Alaska. This ice sheet was part of the Laurentide Ice Sheet, which extended over much of Canada and parts of the northern United States during the peak of the last ice age.
It was covered in massive ice sheets!
They have been there since the last ice age,
During the last ice age, much of North America was covered in thick sheets of ice.
lots of animals like woolly mammoth . rhinos lived during the ice age
There were no Romans during the Ice Age.
The ice age caused the area between Russia and Alaska to freeze into ice that people could walk on but the Asian hunters also followed the bison to the Americas for food
As far as I know there was no Ice age during the Jurassic era.
