From my knowledge and thinking capacity i will give out the reason why trade causes the growth of cities.

Trade is the changing of something to something this can be money or anything that is what we call trade.and growth is the process of developing from lower stage to the high stage this can be caused by different things including trading
The trade can led to the growing of cities do to the following factors
1 .economically
2 .population
3 .Financial sectors
The shift to steam power led to the growth of cities because it increased the efficiency of production and transportation. This made it possible for businesses to expand and for more people to live in cities. The increased population density led to the development of new services and amenities, which made cities more attractive places to live.
