Yes it's real
Did you ever find the answer to your question. I just went through my jewelery box and have an old broach with 187 stamped on the back of what looks like a gold piece. I can't find any information on it on the website. I quess I'll take it to a jeweler.
My appraisal says 14k white gold. I would like an expert opinion on this as well.
JFK half dollars were first issued in 1964. And 1963 is the last year for Franklin half dollars, plus the US Mint has never issued a gold JFK coin of any type. If the coin is a counter stamped, gold plated Kennedy half dollar it's only 50 cents.
7-24-11>>> The US has never made any gold one cent coins. It may look like gold (toning) or may have been gold plated, the counter stamped date or plating was not done by the US Mint and adds no value at all to the coin. The coin is worth one cent unless you find someone that wants it.

14KN stamped on the inside of a diamond ring typically means that the ring is made of 14 karat gold with the "N" indicating that it is a natural gold alloy. This stamp signifies the purity of the gold used in the ring.
More than likely, the 12 stamped in your ring means that it is 12 karat gold.
Heavy Gold Filled..
"RSC" stamped on the inside of a gold and diamond ring may indicate the jeweler or manufacturer responsible for creating the piece. It could be their initials or a company trademark that helps identify the origin of the ring's design and production.
