There is no direct act allowing such a thing, 'paying' for the lands was a common practice started long before the government of the United States was conceived.

Tensions between the United States government and tribes led to tragic events such as the Wounded Knee Massacre and the Trail of Tears.

The U.S. Settlers were mean to the Native Americans and forced them to move to reservation land where there was no buffalo to hunt and the hunters would have to move out of the reservations to hunt for the buffalo for food, clothing and tools. Long ago before the U.S. Settlers came to America, the Native Americans would follow the buffalo where ever they go to hunt for the things they will need to survive because the buffalo was their sacred animal

there are only 4 but i know 2 indians move to reservastions and outlaws They are; 1.Native Americans would live on reservations in Indian Territory, 2. the government would provide Native Americans with supplies, 3. the army was not allowed on reservations, 4. Native Americans who signed the treaty agreed to stop warring on Anglo settlers. -E

well from my knowledge, white people wanted them to leave so President Jackson passed a Removal Act which the federal government can pay the Native Americans to move to the west of the Mississippi River.
Many Native Americans either abandoned the land they were forced to live on or they simply refused to move there. The stage was set us for the start of a conflict.
