The Little Rock Nine were the first African Americans to go to an all-white school. They were among the first to participate in the newly integrated schools of the 50s after Brown vs. Board of Education. However, the Little Rock Nine are probably the most famous because of the circumstances surrounding their attendance at Little Rock Central High School.
