The Middle colonies were New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The different groups of people that settled in these colonies were the Dutch, German, and British. Native American also lived in these areas. The religious groups included the Protestant, Quakers, Anglicans, and French Huguenots, and some Catholics.

There are the Quakers, Mennonites, the

Amish, and lots more other! All the religions

are in these colonies. The Quakers were led

by William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania.

They believed that everyone can choose their

own religion. Also, they lived simply and sometimes

they're called the plain people. There are also

the Susquehannock, who grow corn and

squash! This region were first settled by the

Dutch and the Swedish.

The Middle Colonies had an early settlement of Dutch and German settlers. Thus, when the English pilgrims imigrated the colonies, they were a mirority. The middle colonies are also considered the birthplace of American religious pluralism. There were Dutch Mennonites, French Huguenots, German Baptists, Portuguese Jews. These groups created the Dutch reformed, Lutherans, Quakers, and Anglicans.
