More than 50 cents. Okay, that was too easy. I found an ad for a coin is 'fair' condition and the value asked was $85. I have one in VG condition and logged on to see if there was a value assigned to something like that.

More info and a correctionThe half dollar design used from 1892 to 1916 was created by Charles Barber, not G. T. Morgan so these coins are call Barber halves. Morgan designed the $1 coin minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921.

The value of a 1913 Barber half depends very much on its condition and mint mark. Check under the eagle's tailfeathers to see if there's a small letter. Numismedia lists the following retail values as of 09/2009:

No letter:
Very worn condition - $67
Moderately worn - $210
Slightly worn - $360
Almost no wear - $500
Uncirculated - $1000-8700 depending on how well-struck it is.

"D" mint mark:
Very worn condition - $12
Moderately worn - $43
Slightly worn - $100
Almost no wear - $325
Uncirculated - $1000-15000

"S" mint mark:
Very worn condition - $18
Moderately worn - $55
Slightly worn - $105
Almost no wear - $425
Uncirculated - $670-13000
