Well, uh, the U.S. didn't mint any silver dollars for circulation from 1804 to 1835 inclusive.

If you have a dollar coin dated 1808 you have a fantasy piece or an outright counterfeit. The last couple of decades have seen a flood of counterfeits, mostly made in the Far East. The quality ranges from excellent to ridiculously bad, with impossible dates and designs such as an 1808 dollar. A year or so ago I saw an 1865 Washington quarter that was a similar counterfeit!
