If you found it in change, it's a common coin worth only face value. Circulation half dollars dated 1971 and later are made of copper-nickel and don't contain any silver.

A nice uncirculated one might retail for about $2 or $3, more if it's in absolutely gem condition.

Proof versions sell for $1.50 to $10 depending on quality.
