It depends on which three cent coin you have. If you have a three cent nickel (picture of liberty on the front, roman numeral III on the reverse) it is worth about $5-20. If you have a three cent silver however (star with a shield on the front, and roman numeral with a C and III on the reverse) it is quite rare and worth a couple hundred to a couple thousand depending on the condition.
