It is the people who hold the inherent political power in the United States of America, indeed, across the world. But, in the U.S. there is a Constitution that makes clear that it is the People who have ordained a more perfect union by establishing a federal government. It is by right that every individual acts in accordance with the greater good. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness and Property. In terms of political participation, voting is the very least and most ineffective form of participation. Even protest is limp wristed and far too often ineffective. It is by using the courts to challenge the intrusive laws invariably created by an eager legislator where the people can be most effective.

The Constitution of the United States of America is very clear in the restrictions and prohibitions it has placed upon government officials and the only way to make sure such restrictions and prohibitions are enforced is through an educated populace who understands the law. Not the myriad of Byzantine like legislation created by legislators, nor through executive order, but the Supreme Law of the Land. If legislation is introduced into the system, it is incumbent upon the people to practice, at the very least, a modicum of "civil disobedience".
