The Miami Indians originally lived in the lower Michigan Lake region , but gradually moved to Wisconsin to the Illinois region. Their main food was corn, although the women who did the gardening raised squash and beans. The men (and sometimes women) hunted bear, buffalo and deer which the women prepared and dried. They also would gather any berries or nuts that grew in the region.
