slaves often worked in cotten fields.if not they were maids to thier masters or cooks.
No, there were no mexican slaves during the war. There is no history book in the world that states that a mexican was enslaved and forced to work for an american.
The Civil War was fought between the North (who wanted to abolish slavery) and the South (who wanted to keep slavery). President Lincoln's first goal was to preserve the Union, but eventually decided to work to free the slaves. He passed the Emancipation Proclamation which was supposed to free the slaves. However, the loopholes in the document actually freed no slaves. After the Civil War, the Reconstruction Era began. New laws were passed to give rights to slaves. The first one, the 13th amendment, officially freed the slaves from all types of servitude. There were about 4 million slaves freed in total.
They wanted to keep slavery in the country, because their ecosystem relied on slaves to do farm work. The north did not need slaves as much, because they didn't rely on farm work, like the southerners did. With out slaves in the south, then the farmers had to do their own work. That would have slowed down the process of farming, because there were less farmers than slaves. It isn't really too fun to work in the hot sun either. The slaves' black skin did not get burned easily. But the farmers would have to do the work by themselves, and they did not want that.
The south was abundant in Cotton that needed to be picked, which is extremely hard work, so Southerners would buy slaves to do the work for them, and any other type of hard labour, like cutting sugar cane,so if a southerner had a plantation and money, they would buy slaves to do this, this all came to an end with the civil War from 1861 to 1865 Thank goodness
Former slaves believed that after years of hard labor the South owed them land. This belief was not granted by the South; and many slaves rented small homes and went back to work for paid wages on the plantations.
Egyptians did the work. Whether this work was contracted out in civil service programs or provided by slaves is not known.
They were slaves.
they would work as laborers and maintenance. but in 1863 Lincoln allowed them to fight.
They thought that if the slaves knew how to read, then they would be smarter, and escape. Then they'd have to work on their plantations all by themselves.
Because they wanted the slaves to do all the work but without getting paid so it was cheap. And the money they collected from trading slaves.
Because they lost Some examples were that the South relied strongly on slaves to work their plantation and the civil war freed the slaves; they don't have workers to work on plantations anymore. Have to fix a lot of the damage caused by war, etc.

his view was tht the south needed slaves to work their land
the freedman's bureau was a federal agency set up to help former slaves after the civil war
Also the South had Slaves to work on those farms the North started blockading the South there was a widespread shortage of many goods such as shoes. Adventages of North during Civil war? What were the advantages of the North?
in 1493 ignore the other answer... most slaves got jobs at factories and started families. they were free now and they didnt have to go and work on plantations
Slaves were given freedom after the civil war. (Today in our government, Mexicans are considered freed slaves, because they work for below minumuim wage.) The 15th admendment involves civil rights which was later updated in 1971 when woman were able to vote.
