Unfortunately a buffalo nickel without a date is classed as a "cull" and sells for at most 15 or 20 cents in a dealer's "grab box".

Up till 1925 buffalo nickels suffered from a small design flaw that allowed their dates to wear off quickly. The problem wasn't fixed until that year so if the coin's date is missing it's not possible to determine when it was made.

If you check the coins in your pocket you'll see that allUS Coins carry that motto so it doesn't identify a particular denomination or year.

How much is a buffalo Indian 1913 E pluribus unum nickel worth?

1913 was the first year of issue for this coin. It was struck at all 3 Mints, with 2 different reverses, so 6 different Buffalo nickels exist all dated 1913. The best thing to do is take it to a coin dealer for a better idea of the value.

Where is the mint mark located on an e pluribus unum coin?

There is no such thing as an E Pluribus Unum coin. You need to give us the denomination and year before we can even begin to remotely help you. All E Pluribus Unum tells us is that you have a US coin which isn't much help to us because depending on the design of the coin and the denomination the mintmark could be in a number of places.

Where and when was the first buffalo head nickel minted?

The first Indian Head/Buffalo Nickel was minted in Philadephia in the year 1913. The coin is actually called a buffalo nickel or an Indian head nickel, but not "buffalo head". After all, it shows the entire buffalo, not just its head :)
