First, coins are said to be struck or minted. "Printing" refers to paper and ink, like dollar bills.

Second, The Mint hasn't stopped making $1 coins at all. Both the Native American and Presidential series are being struck by the hundreds of millions every year. Check with any larger bank, they should be able to get you all that you want (at a dollar each, of course) or you can go to the US Mint's website and use their Direct Ship program.

Did us president dollar coins stop production?

Not completely. Due to the lack of popularity of the Presidential dollar coins, the US Mint has drastically reduced production, as there are over a billion of them still sitting unused in bank vaults. As of 2012, the Mint will only release limited quantities for collectors for the remainder of the series.

Does the dollar bill make up twenty percent of the currency printed by the US Mint?

The dollar bill doesn't make up any fraction of the money made by the Mint because the Mint doesn't print bills, it strikes coins. Bills are printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. In fact, about 45 PERCENT of all bills in the US are dollars. $1 bills typically wear out in about 18 months and so many are needed that the BEP actually had to build a second printing plant to keep up with demand. That's the reason that many people want to stop printing the $1 bill and use a combination of $1 coins and $2 bills instead. The problem is that the company that makes all the paper for $1 bills has very powerful lobbyists and they've been able to convince Congress to turn down any and all proposals to eliminate the greenback.

When did the us mint stop producing Silver half dollars?

1964 all us coins stopped being produced with silver.

In what year did the the US stop producing coins that contained silver?

1964 was the last year 90% silver coins were released for circulation. The Kennedy Half Dollar was struck in 40% silver from 1965-1969 and 1970 but the 1970 coin was not released for circulation. In 1975 & 1976 special bicentennial 40% silver collectors coins were struck and sold from the US Mint. 1982 saw a 90% silver commemorative half dollar and from 1992 to date Silver Proof sets that have 90% silver halves, quarters and dimes also have been sold from the Mint. NOTE: From 1986 to date the US has produced "American Silver Eagle" bullion coins that are 1 ounce of pure silver.

Are they going to stop printing the fifty dollar bill?

There are no plans, nor any compelling reason, for the US to stop printing $50 bills. In fact, they now see more circulation due to increased prices so it would make very little financial or political sense to stop making them.
