Right after the Revolution. Except for the Torys who were banished to England or Canada or some other British possession. The Torys property was confiscated.
At first there was a confederation of states composing the United States but that didn't work. So a Constitution was drafted, debated and approved. We still live by that Constitution with several added amendments.

Most of the early colonists were colonists because of religion. They were not colonists first and religionists second. They were religionists first and that resulted in their becoming colonists.

Of course. African Americans are born in the US, so they are automatically citizens. To get more technical, if an African came to America and became naturalized, s/he'd be a US citizen.
They became loyal Americans and US Citizens. Of the roughly 600,000 Loyalists who had sided with the United Kingdom, some became instant Canadians and about 1,000 plus 2,000 slaves started their lives over on British Islands in the Caribbean. Only a small minority went home to the British Isles.
