Her father, apparently had a fiery temper, and after a particularly heated arguement, Pauline (Harriet) ran away and became an actress at the age of 18. I believe she acquired the name Pauline Cushman as a stage name because Charlotte Cushmine was a famous actress of the day. However, unfortunately, I do not not know the names of harriet's parents, except that it would be reasonable to guess that the father's last name is "Wood".
