Yes, Pauline Cushman had siblings. She was born into a family with several brothers and sisters. However, specific details about their names and lives are less documented compared to her own story.
She died on December 2,1893.
Pauline Cushman, or rather, Harriet Wood, as that is her real name, was born in New Orleans. Despite being born in the deep south, she was loyal to the Union, and served the Union as a spy. Her father, apparently had a fiery temper, and after a particularly heated arguement, Pauline (Harriet) ran away and became an actress at the age of 18. I believe she acquired the name Pauline Cushman as a stage name because Charlotte Cushmine was a famous actress of the day. However, unfortunately, I do not not know the names of harriet's parents, except that it would be reasonable to guess that the father's last name is "Wood". If you are desparate, you can search through ancestry and family tree sites. Sorry
Pauline Cushman, a Union spy during the American Civil War, is known more for her actions than for specific notable quotes. While she did not leave behind a collection of famous sayings, her bravery and dedication to the Union cause have been documented in various accounts of her life. Her experiences and contributions as a female spy in a male-dominated field highlight themes of courage and resilience. Pauline Cushman got fired from acting because she was appearing in a road show in Union-held Louisville, KY, when two paroled confederate officers offered her $300 to toast Jefferson Davis during her performance. She did, but first she reported the incident to the federal Provost Marshal, who recognized that this expression of secessionist loyalty would give Cushman entrée' into Confederate camps and would make her valuable as a Union spy. The theater company fired her for making the toast, and she was "evicted" from the Union lines.- Megan Eaton♥
