No, they have to be a natural born U. S. citizen to become president.

However, the continental US generally means the 48 contiguous states ,maybe including Alaska but not Hawaii. Citizens born in Alaska and Hawaii are indeed natural born US citizens.

A more interesting question which has not every been officially ruled on by the courts is whether a person born on a US Military base in a foreign country is natural born or whether someone born to US citizens while visiting a foreign country is natural born.

I believe Barack Obama was born in Hawai'i. Also, John McCain was born on a U.S. ship near the Panama Canal.

Both of those count as U.S. territory, so they were still allowed to run.
