because the saw America as a land of job opportunities and plenty of Natural Resources.large area of land for agriculture was available and there were many gold and coal mines

Every generation can be asked of this question and each answer will be different. In 1492 Columbus came, historians argue on who was the first immigrant to arrive. In the history books they call them explorers. Either way, he sailed in from Another Country and said WOW, I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE HERE SOME DAY.

As did each and every other early explorer.

Ellis Island was established as the window to the new world. It was the gateway for millions of immigrants to the United States as the nation's busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892 until 1954.

Jump forward to 2013, and you still have it going on. Different countries, different cultures. Originally, they came to be a US citizen. To fit in and make it a better country. Not to make it a copy of the country they just left. Not to change the laws to let them do what they did in their own countries.

The USA has it set of rules it goes by, its lawmakers, etc. Many immigrants have a difficult time following the rules set forth for all of us. Some choose to go back to their country, some do harm to/in their new motherland.
