Ever since European settlers and traders landed in the Americas, their interactions with Natives have been checkered with both good and bad. The general explanation for the bad side of the interactions is twofold: First, the desire for economic success drove the English (and, later, Americans) to take advantage of Native Americans. Second, a cultural conception that European (then, American) culture is superior to Native cultures led to prejudice and other negatives, including the American government's systematic compulsion of Natives to settle in reservations.
Greed. In those days, it was thought that natives (N American, S American, Africa, and so on) were so inferior to the Europeans as to hardly even be people.
This is a direct result of the colonization around the globe by the British, Dutch, French, Spanish, and others. Further, the US Army officers placed in charge of Army groups who were meant to keep the "Indians" in their places.
The "kill now, ask questions later" officers like George Custer were most often in charge. Sitting Bull, of course, had other ideas, which is why he so revered by many even today.
the significance of it is to celebrate what Africans went through just for us so we will not be treated badly like they were
African Americans traveled to Canada because there was no slavery there and they traveled there because their masters treated them very badly. They got whipped and beaten even if they rested from work for a minute. So they escaped through the underground railroad and they came to Canada.
Native Americans were in the Memphis area long before anyone laid claim to the area. When De Soto explored the area he was the first outsider to see the Indians and there land. The Indians hated him so much when he died he was buried in the Mississippi river so the Indians would not destroy his body.
i think that (according to my us history test book) the native Americans have been treated badly because they were known as outsiders that no one has known about or has any past about. Many people dispized the native Americans at the time yet of course the native Americans were the people who greeted them onto their land, maybe not fight at first, but eventually, did not even know that they were going to be driven out of their homelands. they were one of the founding people or groups on the Americas and i think that we don't even try to help or recognize it. their are so many things that no one recognizes because of the things around them... no i am not a native American trying to get people to appreciate the natives, i am a person with understanding and tries to see everything in everyones perspective... even when it is really hard at times age 14
He called them Indians because he believed he was in India. At that time no one knew America existed and he was trying to find a faster way to Asia But, since America was the land he ran into instead of Asia he called the people Indians so it was a simple mistake.
They treated them dIfferently because they had different methods to get them to help them.
Columbus did not have a respectful opinion of the Americans, he only cared about finding riches. He did not view the American Indians as a threat, so he treated them badly
so badly
The Indians were mostly upset with the Americans and decided to help the French out of retaliation. The French were nice to the Indians and treated them well and the natives in turn favored the French. The liked the French so they wanted to help them win so that they could be treated better and live peacefully under French "control" because they feared if Americans won that they would be treated terribly again.
He wanted Americans to be EQUAL!!!!!!! He wanted that so badly, very badly
they were treated badly because they were slaves. people didnt care about there health all they cared about were getting them home so that they could get them to work.
He wanted Americans to be EQUAL!!!!!!! He wanted that so badly, very badly
you don't need to know :)
Because that's what Adolf Hitler wanted.
just guessing but probably because he was treated badly
You know, France is a democracy so you can suppose we are not badly treated.
Probably because the creators thought it was funny, and I do to.
