"black people faced prejudice because many light skinned Americans thought they were better than them because they thought they looked much better. Many dark skinned people were called monkeys. when Europeans went to African they decided to Enslave the Africans because they looked different then them. The reason i say light skinned people is because many "black light skin people thought they were better then the dark skin person even though they both "black" because the thought white was right and they had a better opportunity in the society at the time. which was true but still they both in the end had a hard time. because of the color of there skin.

They were foreign and the plantation owners needed many many workers to work cheap or for free. they traded the Africans guns for prisoners of war or criminals. since the slaves were treated so badly on the plantations the hatred grew and people just looked down on them because they worked on plantations

Originally, Africans were not so much hated as exploited. Europeans were in a position to enslave Africans, and so Africans became treated as another form of domestic animal, owned by people who thought themselves to be superior to the animals or people whom they owned. After the Civil War and the abolition of slavery, European Americans were told that African Americans have the same legal rights that they do, and must be treated as people rather than as domestic animals. Some people resented this deeply, because it would mean that their previous beliefs and actions were wrong, and people don't like to be wrong. Another way of looking at this is, by hating black people, white people retroactively justify all the injustices that they have inflicted on black people. In addition, people are often motivated by a rather atavistic feeling of tribalism. They seek the benefit of their own tribe at the expense of other tribes, and ethnic groups are the modern equivalent of tribes.

Blacks are hated and resented by whites because blacks hate white people and blame them for their place in society. Through much of an African American's life they're told that whites are responsible for oppressing them. When in truth, it's their generally unsuccessful behavior that's to blame. But what causes this unsuccessful behavior?

While there are smart blacks and stupid whites, a multitude of studies have shown blacks, on average, have a 15-20 point lower IQ than whites. By the same token, whites have a 3-5 point lower IQ than Asians. In today's modern society ones intellect, more than anything, determines the type of profession/job a person will be able to hold. Clearly a better paying job leads to more prosperity.

Contrary to what the politically correct among us would have you believe, the reality is that differences in races includes more than skin color; the most significant difference is intellect. Until we move beyond political correctness and accept this, blacks will continue to hate white people as they believe whites are oppressing them. This hatred toward whites manifests itself as general mistrust of whites and a high rate of black on white violent crime. This in turn leads to whites hating blacks.

That was mainly because of fear, and the negative beliefs about them that were used to justify slavery. To get to a point where you would enslave others, you'd have to be to a point where you feel they are inferior or like animals, and perhaps have a very self-centered or classist view.

Then when slavery was over, many in society still believed the Propaganda of the slave owners. The beliefs used to justify slavery didn't just vanish because the law said slavery was wrong. People heard for a while that the former slaves were animals, stupid, savages, and whatever else and didn't want to be around them.

Then there were other problems such as a bad economy and a bunch of new people competing in the job market. So naturally, people afraid for their jobs would try to take measures to marginalize those who would compete.

There were also political pressures. Most of their allies of the former slaves were liberal Republicans. The conservative Democrats of that day wanted to prevent the liberals of the day from getting political power. So they helped create laws that marginalized the former slaves, and they started the most known hate group, the Ku Klux Klan, to harass them and try to discourage them from political activities. But liberal influences were not the only fear that drove mistreatment of freedmen and their descendants. There were also communist influences. Since the slaves where denied any individuality or private lives, and since they were stuck in survival mode, they were susceptible to political pressures like communism. So fearful people tried to keep them away from the polls to vote for such things. However, some of their fears occurred, but not just through the Black community. The American Communist Party disbanded and former members gained influence in the Democrat Party. Most of the remaining Conservatives moved to the Republican Party.

Another fear had to do with reproduction, and the fear of propagating bad values into the greater society. A fear of a minority population explosion was valid in a way. If a group of people is marginalized and disempowered enough, they may increase sexual behaviors. There may be two reasons for that. On the conscious level, it is because of the belief that the more people of your community exist, you would get better treatment. If you make up under 17% of society, most people would get by marginalizing your group. However, if you made up 50% of society, you could band together, start a war, and fight for a good portion of the land. Society would be forced to listen to you. Then the other reason for a push toward a population explosion would be subconscious. As people, and particularly men, feel less control in their outside world, they turn to sex as a way to make up for insecurity. At least that is an area where they have control. When you feel you have nothing to lose, you may do whatever you want. Anyway, because of such dynamics, there were things like racist Birth Control and eugenics experiments and laws against interracial dating and marriages.

As you can see, the mistreatment came from ignorance, wrong beliefs, and various fears.

African Americans migrated north in the early 1900s mainly because of?

Whether it was true or not, black people came to believe things would be better for them if they moved up north, and especially to northeastern states like New York and Pennsylvania. The south was segregated by law, and this severely limited opportunities for black people, who were restricted in where they could go to school, what occupations they could enter, where they could travel, when or if they could go to a library or shop at a store, and above all, how much money they could earn. Up north, there were more opportunities to get an education, find a job, make a living, and have a more comfortable life. While the north had so-called "de facto" segregation (by custom, rather than by law), there were no laws forbidding black people from studying (many colleges did admit them), nor were they restricted as to which occupations they entered (black lawyers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and business-people found acceptance). And while there were certainly ghettos in the North (and plenty of white people who were prejudiced), conditions in black neighborhoods were perceived as better than they were in the south, and many white people were fine about having a black colleague or a black customer. Further, the ability of black and white people to mingle meant talented black artists, sculptors, playwrights, musicians and poets could sometimes attract a white audience: during the 1920s, for example, the Harlem Renaissance occurred, and white people were able to see and appreciate black talent and creativity; in addition, black performers were often heard on white-owned radio stations, where they gained great popularity and earned more money than they might have in the south.

No. Tennessee was.

Are black people really invisible in the dark?

No, black people are not invisible in the dark; no more than a white person is invisible in the light. If one cannot see someone who is black in the dark, it is more likely because human eyes are not made to see in the dark, so it would be hard to see anyone of any race.

Why do we need stricter animal abuse laws?

We need stricter laws because the crazies of our world think that just because animals aren't people, they think they can get away with abusing them. Therefore, more and more animals are being abused and abandoned. If the crazy people know that they will be severely punished for beating a dog or cat, they will stop abusing them. This will save literaly thousands of lives a year. (Not including the extra 8 cat lives:-)

Why is the rate of imprisonment of black males greater than that of white males?

They commit more crime? Added: This is a very complicated question with no simple answer. While the simple suggestion is that they commit more crime, the underlying issues are not that simple. There are socioeconomic and social problems that may lead to more crime by black males. The actual crimes committed may be more serious or more violent, leading to more jail time. Additionally, there is some evidence that black males are more likely to be arrested and convicted of crimes, that they are disproportionately punished more severely, and that they are less likely to be granted parole/early release. A number of studies and articles have been written on the issue, and may provide you with quite a bit of insight.
