Should animals be used for researches and medical experiments?

Animals shouldn't be used to conduct such experiments because it endangers THEIR lives and could hurt them in anyway.

Animal SHOULD:

Animals, on the other hand, should be tested to make sure the chemical is safe for humans. I mean, i doubt there are many humans who will volunteer to be tested. The scientists need alot of animals for tests to try new chemicals .

Really it is personal decision.

However you must decide what you class as scientific research or experimentation. Most people will think of mice in labs growing ears on their back or something similar. However every dog food on the market will have been tested on animals to determine the correct amount that should be fed to your dog, the same goes for cat food ect..

I have been involved in studies which looked at the behaviour of wild birds during mating season and also at food preference in wild blue tits, these are scientific studies, do these count?

NO! think of it this way how would you like it if yo were stuck with needles and most people who do this are mean to the animals and its not right.

This is a complicated issue. It's important to distinguish between medical research and other scientific research that can save human lives; and, on the other hand, research that is done for the sake of cosmetics, body products, household cleaners, etc.
