From experience, depending on how severe they are burnt, a cat will be disoriented, have trouble eating and drinking, and will vomit due to dizziness. They will spend a lot of time sleeping, probably out of fear of moving a around. My cat caught on fire because she jumped on an open flame gas stove that was on. The whiskers are burnt almost to the face, the ives above her eyes are gone. Thankfully she is a long hair cat so she didn't get Burns on her skin, but has not been herself. We have to watch her and make sure she eats, drinks and uses the restroom.it's been a couple days now, she has been getting sick since last night. The whiskers will grow back, but can take a while, meantime, can't go outside our let loose around the house sundew she could get stuck.

What advantages do a ferret have?

Ferrets use their long bodies for many different things. The main thing they use their slender bodies for is getting into the burrows of their prey. The ferret is nocturnal and usually hunts in the night. Since it can't see very well it uses its whiskers to judge which holes it can fit into. When a ferret comes to a hole, it feels how wide the hole is with its whiskers, if its whiskers bend back then the ferret knows that it won1t be able to fit in the burrow because their whiskers are as long as the widest part of their body. If they can fit into the hole they are able to move quickly by whipping their bodies around through the narrow passageways and slithering almost like a snake. Some other adaptations of ferrets are their defense mechanisms; all ferrets have a foul smelling fluid that is embedded in their fur, this keeps many animals away, and ferrets also make sounds such as high pitched screeches and grumbles to warn predators not to mess with them. (:

Would a cats whiskers get longer if it got fatter?

Consdering the fact that whiskers are partly meant for a cat to tell whether a space is wide enough for it (so it won't get stuck), then yes, a cat's whiskers would get longer if it got fatter. Hope this helps!
