Yes, I can honestly say that there are teens out there who have stayed together and are happy because me and my husband are proof. I am 19 and my husband is 21. We've been married since July 2003 and have been together since December 2000. We are expecting our baby girl on January 8th. We have a better relationship now then when we first started dating. Marriage takes work, and the sooner couples realize marriage isn't always a bed of roses the better off they are. Problems come up in marriages, but it's how you deal with them that counts. My husband and I have been married for 33 years. When he gets home we sit down over tea and ask each other about our day. If there is a problem then we put our heads together and come up with a solution. We have had some huge fights in our marriage, but cooled off (we get out of each other's faces) and made-up. No marriage is perfect and if anyone tells you that they aren't telling you the truth. Marriage is a gamble when you choose a mate, but if you both have good qualities then there is no reason it can't work out.

I only know one. This is very romantic, yes, but don't let it fool you. These rarely last. When my grandmother was 14, she was swimming in a lake that was rather crowded and popular. Her soon-to-be-husband, whom she hadn't met yet, was hanging out on the shore. Someone was swimming in front of her and kicked her in the face on accident, and she began to drown. The future husband, who was 16, jumped into the lake and saved her. She called him her "Knight in Shining Armor" after that, and they married very poor, and she had kids when she was VERY young. They are now over 60 and are still very much in love. But be careful, because these don't always last. You need to be sure you can make it on your own with a child.

Sorry, I disagree with whether a person is labeled mature only at the age of 30. I have known children with more insight than many adults I have met. There is something wise about them and they often act different than other younger children their age and I describe them as "old souls" for the sake of a better term. I saw on the news a few weeks past where a house fire devoured 4 children ranging from 8 to teens and the oldest boy was supporting his siblings and doing a great job of it! He worked, fed them, did housework and the siblings helped too. So, I feel it's unfair to state when a person is mature because it solely depends on what life has put upon them to make them grow up fast or not. Not everyone is as privileged at just being a kid without too many problems. Some people never mature and it's quite evident by what we can read on this board about people's problems. From where I'm sitting in many cases our pets are wiser than most humans!

Oh sure, there are instances where people in your situation have married and stayed together to the end. But with the divorce rate at about 50% and the rate even higher for those with kids, I would have to say it's not bloody likely. A kid like the teenager mentioned above can be mature enough to work and take care of his siblings but I would find it interesting to see where he would have gone in the future. I kind of doubt he would run out and have babies with some young girl because he is mature enough to think about the child. That is the difference. A person is mature enough to have kids if they want what is best for a kid, putting the child's needs before their own. A child needs two loving, thoroughly committed parents who are able to support the child.
