No... a N64 is a whole different game setup. The games are "Cartridges." Nintendo GameCube games work on the Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo Gameboy games work on the Nintendo DS.

The answer is no the gamecube controller will not work on the nintendo 64 it only works for the gamecube and the newer wii system.
A Nintendo 64 controller.
No. But sometimes, you can still use a GameCube controller to play Nintendo 64 games. Some Nintendo 64 games have been converted to use on the GameCube, so for those games, such as the Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, the GameCube Controller is used. On the Wii, you can download Nintendo 64 games through the Wii Shop Channel. These recommend using the Classic Controller, but the GameCube controller will work in most cases. You cannot physically convert one controller into another, either. The gamecube controller cannot be used to play N64 games.
The Nintendo 64 is used using the Nintendo 64 controller and pluging in the AV connectors to the Back of the TV.You can just put the gigantic DS type block into the console and play away!
You can buy N64 games off the Wii Shop Channel for 1000 points. But you need a classic controller or GC controller to play them.
No.
The Z button also known as the Zed button or Zed trigger is located on the back of the Nintendo 64 Controller.
Paper mario does not take a "remote" it uses a controller from the Gamecube console by Nintendo, because it is a Gamecube/Nintendo 64 game. If you are playing it on a Nintendo 64 console, then it takes a Nintendo 64 controller.
