Can a character exceed 9999 hit points on final fantasy X?

9999 hit points is the maximum amount of damage your characters can do in Final Fantasy X, unless you have the Break Damage Limit ability on your weapons, which changes the max damage to 99999.

You can also change the max HP the characters have to 99999 if you have the Break HP Limit on the armour of the character.

To get:

Break Damage Limit

- Mix 60 dark matters to your weapon

- Get the character's fully powered-up Celestial Weapon

Break HP Limit

- Mix 30 Wings of Discovery to your armour.
