Not unless you have a minecraft client in beta.
no Yes it is. The server and multiplayer has also always been part of Minecraft. If you bought the Beta version of Minecraft it is still good for the Full Final release of Minecraft.
Yes. However, offline servers do not require a real Minecraft account, but require Minecraft SP.
There are tons of tutorials out there. If you are running Minecraft Beta 1.8, you should update to the newest version.
With hamachi, use Server ID: bluexephoes#2 Server Password: blue IP:5.107.94.200
No. not that i know of. i am currently trying to find a way to do this though.
In Minecraft classic you just go to the minecraft homepage and click classic multiplayer. From there you can choose a server you want to join, simple as that!If you want to join an beta server, that's a whole different story! To join an beta server you should first start minecraft, then you click multiplayer. The next part is much different than classic multiplayer, you need to get an IP address for the server you want to join, there are several websites that list such. Here is an example/server (If you want to join it): 173.162.239.157:25565You can just copy and past it into the entry bar asking for the address! Also in the new update 1.8 in beta you can save the servers you visited in a list unfortunately if you have a newer version of minecraft and the server hasn't updated you will not be allowed to connect to it
Alpha is no longer around. If your still interested in starting a Beta server, go to the Minecraft site and download the necessary files. More info can be found on the MC Wiki.
Minecraft has made it very easy to make a multiplayer server. Simply go to minecraft.net and download the server .exe. Type in the IP address of the computer you are running the server on and you will connect to your new server! Please note that you will have to port forward your server for people to be able to connect to it from the internet.
Do what the wedsite says, then look up a youtube video, which will tell you what to furthermore do.
The beta version of Minecraft was released on December 20, 2010.* * Minecraft-beta came after Minecraft-alpha, but before Minecraft 1.0. You can play Minecraft-beta with the new launcher.
I would recommend using PermissionsEx. It is a great plugin, like permissions but better.
