If you mean in all mods ever, then potentially thousands. Mods are add-ons to minecraft created by users, and new ones are made every day. To count how many modded mobs there are in minecraft would be near impossible

It is possible, however you need to make sure none of the .class files you replace in the minecraft.jar are used by the other mod. More often than not, if there is a .class file that they both use, one mod creator might have made a compatibility pack with a .class that will work for both. If there isn't one, you could kindly ask one of the mod authors to whip one up for you if possible.

There are also many community-made mod compilation packs available on the Minecraft Official forums that contain many many different mods all packed into one .zip file for you. :D

You can, but some parts of the mods may ruin each other and it may not work. As a rule of thumb, try to keep only one mod on at a time. The exception to this is with mods that are designed to work together.

You just have to make sure they don't conflict with each other. Read all the information and if there is a problem just install them one at a time to see which one is the problem. Only one can be hosted local. For the rest you have to use a hosting site.

Definitely- just click "Create New World" under "Singleplayer" after you have already created a world.

Yes it is, as can quite clearly be seen in the case of modpacks. Beware though as some mods may not work together very well.
