Do you have to work on Animal Crossing City Folk?

No you can't work on Animal Crossing lets go to the city, I've tried everything. But at the start of the game tom nook will ask you to work part time. You will only have to do some jobs for him!

Yes. When you begin the game, you will start out in a small house. Of course, you go in to look at your new home. But, upon leaving, a chubby raccoon will waddle up to you and tell you the price of the house that you're moving into. That is Mr. Tom Nook. He will tell you that you can work part-time at his shop, Nook's Cranny. (The store upgrades; the more youbuy, the faster it upgrades) Even if you don't want to work there, he doesn't give you a choice. Your jobs include delivering stuff, writing a letter about a sale, and promoting NC on the town hall posting board. After you're done, he'll lower the price of your house a little, as it started at 19,800 (i think), down to 18,400. But after that, you can no longer work for him.

No, you cannot start a business on Animal Crossing City Folk. (Not OFFICIALLY, at least. You could always run your own little business between you and your friends over wi-fi.)
