All PS3 play the same games. Some of the Older PS3's do need to have current PS3 software updates to play 3D or PS3 Move games,, but they will play them fine once updated. The main feature that the PS3 slim have besides a larger harddrive is the HDMI sync and that could not be included in the PS3 fat though software updates
No. Sony deleted that ability from PS3 so your old PS1 and PS2 games will never be playable on your PS3
Yes and the new PS3 move will work on all PS3 models
yes they use the same program so yea they do
The old PS3 can only play the oldest PS3 games. A new PS3 can play both new and old games.
No and only the old PS3s with 4 USB ports that are a few years old could nothing newer can play PS2 games
Most old PS3 will play PS1 & PS2 games with no problems. But because internally they did away with the PS2 Emotion Chip, the Slim PS3 has issues with PS1 & PS2 games and some will not play them at all. The slim is also smaller and quieter. The Slim does not have a power switch in the back so even when off it is always technically on unless you unplug it. The front power button and eject button of the old PS3 are touch sensitive, and on the Slim they are physical mechanical buttons. The slim does not have card readers like the old one. Both the old and slim have a variety of harddrive size options, but the average size on the old PS3 is 60GB and the average size on the slim is 120GB. The cell processor is made with a smaller nanometer assembly process so that it generates a little less heat. They both play all PS3 games, DVD, & Blue-Ray. They both have wireless type-g antennas. They run the same XMB operating system. They both work with the Netflix disc. They both have full access to the PlayStation Network, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Home. In short they saved money in the assembly process by stripping away the hardware that most consumers were not using and improving the things that they were and then passing those saving on to you. Some of the changes were first made to the last PS3 fat models made before the PS3 Slim was released. The PS3 slim will also start selling 160 GB model and 320 GB models besides the 250 GB models. The 120 GB sells for the same price as the 160 GB model of $299.99 USA
Of course the original Xbox 360 games are no different from the new Xbox 30 slim games.
i personally think that the old one is better because ps3 slim has only one fan so it over heats quickly. The old ps3 has 2 fans :)
They sell a PS3 version and that will work. If you have an old PS3 with 4 USB ports you already know it is one of the consoles that might play the game and for all the others your PS3 plays PS3 games with PS3 equipment and it not the game that matters unless you have an old console
ps3 slim its much better trust me Also the PS3 fat is used and old and should not be expected to act like a new console or be better than the newly developed models even if they did cost more then.
No only some old 2006 and 2007 models played them
No the PS3 slim like most PS3 Game consoles except the very first models with 4 USB ports will not play PS2 games. There is no quick fix which will allow you to play the games, no discs or software that you can purchase and play the Old PS2 games. However most people find that there are plenty of new PS3 games and the lack of the ability to play the PS2 games has not stopped the PS3 Slim from selling out. The Sony Style USA store has had to limit orders to only 2 to a customer and new orders for both the 120 GB and 250 GB model are again being placed on Backorder due to the overwhelming demand.
