It could. Tendinitis means simply pain in the tendon. The tendons and the muscles are really one inseparable unit. Tendinitis is usually caused by over tight muscles. Since the over tight muscles are connected to the vertebra and applying inappropriate pressure on the vertebral disks, the disks can wear out prematurely. Kinda like riding your brakes down the highway. if only vertebra pads could be changed as easy as brake pads. This phenomenon is not isolated to the vertebral joints, any joint in the body is susceptible to the degeneration of the articulating tissue.

Dehydration is another factor in the degeration. That majority of that tissue is water so a loss of water can mean a loss of tissue.

If the cause of the problem is over tight muscles then massage therapy can do wonders. However it is no miracle cure. disc degeneration does not happen overnight so several therapy sessions maybe necessary (3x a week for 3 months is the ideal regiment). If massage is 100% successful, the degeneration may stop completely at best. It will not regenerate the disc. Of course Massage Therapy can increase circulation which can increase the amount of repair material in the area, that alone won't do enough. Acupuncture can help stimulate the body to "repair" itself, but increasing the amount of repair material in the blood available for the body to use is really the only thing that you can do. The body can repair not regenerate (like a lizard tail) Supplements can help, nutraceuticals, Chinese herb are all valuable items.

My own personal opinion only based on my version of common sense is broth. Broth made from simmering down the bones of chicken or cow, preferably spinal bones for two reasons, they have the highest amount of cartilage and because we are talking about spinal problems. Simmer the bones for several hours until the bones are crumbly, the calcium stays behind and the collagen and elastin, repair material, melt into the broth and is ready to be assimilated by the body. If your a vegan, no problem, veggies have necessary constituents of the repair material, Broth also helps to solve the whole dehydration situation too.

Seek a few therapist that specialize in soft tissue dysfunction. Try them out and see who you connect with. A lot of relief that you will experience will be from YOU "letting go" from your holding pattern, how you carry yourself, so establishing trust is important. A good massage therapist will be your guide to your body, a great one knows that. Once you find some one you are comfortable with talk to your Doctor about a prescription for Massage Therapy.

What does this mean AT t7-8 there is disc desiccation and disc degeneration central and right paracentral disc herniation with midl superior subligamentous ext mildly indenting cent and rght hemicord?

T7-8 IS REFERRING TO THE DISC SPACE BETWEEN THE 7TH AND 8TH VERTEBRA OF THE THORACIC SPINE. THE THORACIC SPINE THAT SECTION BETWEEN THE CERVICAL SPINE (NECK) AND THE LUMBAR SPINE (LOWER BACK).THERE ARE 12 VERTEBRA THAT MAKE UP THE THORACIC SPINE.DISC DESICATION REFERS TO THE DEHYDRATION OR WATER LOSS CONTENT.DISCS ARE SOFT TISSUE STRUCTURES SERVING AS CUSHIONS BETWEEN THE BONY VERTEBRA.HERNIATION IS REFERS TO THE DISC BEING OUT OF PLACE. THIS REPOSITIONING OF THE DISC IS PROBABLY CAUSING INDENTING OR COMPRISING THE SPINAL CORD AT THAT PARTICULAR LEVEL OR LOCATION.

What does there is mild disc desiccation with minimal to mild loss of the disc height mean?

This is the official pathology report description of mild intervertebral disc degeneration. The "mild dessication" means the disc appears slightly drier than normal, which can be related to a mild breakdown in the squishy cushion portion of the disc. The "mild loss of disc height" simply means the disc is not as tall as it used to be, again probably a result of mild degeneration. Disc degeneration is a normal artefact of aging - everyone's intervertebral discs will go through some degree of degeneration if they live long enough. However, disc degeration is considered to be the first step towards a herniated or ruptured disc, which can cause severe back pain and require surgery to correct. If I were in your shoes and had been given this information by a doctor, I would ask what it means in practical terms. What are my risks of a herniated disc in the next five years? Will this impact nerve function? What are signs and symptoms that this disc is deteriorating? Is there anything I need to do about this - change posture, wear a brace, etc?

Degeneration of L5-S1 disc with vacuum phenomenon?

Degeneration of the L5-S1 disc refers to the breakdown or wear-and-tear of the disc located between the fifth lumbar vertebra and the first sacral vertebra in the spine. The vacuum phenomenon is a radiographic finding where gas accumulates within the intervertebral disc space, typically seen in degenerated discs. This phenomenon is a result of the degenerative changes in the disc causing a decrease in pressure within the disc space, allowing gas to enter and form a vacuum. This condition can be associated with back pain, radiculopathy, and other symptoms related to spinal degeneration.
