LEGO Universe was officially shut down in January 2012, and there is no official way to access the game since then. Lego Universe is an MMO. All MMO have a point where there are no more quests or things to do, and therefore just fighting monsters or PvP. However, the deveolpers of MMOs try to add new content in "patches", updates that do that and also fix game bugs. Short answer is YES, but before it was shut down due to monetary problems the deveolpers added new content to keep it going.
Lego discontinued a lot of their lines with expensive electronics because they weren't selling well. The Studios sets were very pricey and the camera itself was lousy. Most Lego fans preferred to use their own cameras.
