Arabian Nights (aka Arabian Nights Island) is the 41st island of Poptropica, released beginning in October, 2014, and based on the winner of the first Create Your Dream Islandcontest (April 2014). The quest features many of the classic Aladdin and the 40 Thieves themes. The first episode is "How Bazaar" and you seek the hideout of the thieves.

Episode 1 - How Bazaar (November, 2014)

The 40 Thieves were making things miserable for the merchants selling things in the Grand Bazaar and it has been relocated closer to the palace.

1) To the left are some merchants. You could do business but you have nothing to trade yet. Farther left is the Sultan's palace, where you cannot enter but can eavesdrop on the guards from the window ledges above the door.

2) Leave the trading area, go right, and talk to the other merchant (wears a red fez). Continue right and cross the pond of the oasis. You climb through a deserted salt mining site, Dodge scorpions hidden in the sand, and enter the caves.

3) In the cave, head right, then down, left, and up the ladder - push the crates left or right to help you reach the ledges, and jump over the shifting sands. Find the red-turbaned skeleton and collect the bag of salt - you can take it back to the city to swap with the merchants.

4) Back at the trading areas, climb the first building and swap some salt to the woman with the blue veil. You get a variety of cloth. (Don't bother trying to get grain to swap for her lamp - it is a fake.)

5) Go farther left and climb to see the merchant with the blue and green turban. He will swap you a spyglass for the cloth. Take it top of the tower at the right side, where there is a tripod mount. You can use it to see the area of the deserted bazaar right of town.

6) Climb down and go to the dais (platform) in the old bazaar, where the merchant says things will be stolen. Leave some salt there and go back to your observation point. Look left and you see two black-garbed thieves throw a smoke bomb and grab the salt from the dais.

7) Go back to the dais and pick up the other smoke bombthat was dropped there. Equip it.

8) Go left to the palace, where the guards would ordinarily stop you from entering. Climb over them and when they are close together, use your spacebar to drop the smoke bomb. While they are in the smoke, jump down and enter the palace door.

9) Talk to the Sultan, whose valuables were taken by the thieves. He gives you his last crown jewel to use in finding his lost Magic Lamp.

10) At the trading area, go back to the spyglass merchant and trade him the jewel for an ivory camel. Go to the merchant with the real camel and swap for the camel and bridle. Put the bridle on and lead the camel back to the dais in the empty bazaar. Leave the camel there and go back to your observation point.

11) Look right, and a hooded figure comes in, throws a smoke bomb, and takes the camel. Watch as he goes to the oasis pond and says "Open Sesame." A stone camel head rises from the water and he and the camel go inside. It sinks back into the pond. This is the secret hideout of the 40 Thieves!

12) Go to the oasis, and wade into the water. Your character says "Open Sesame" and goes inside. You receive the Island Medallion for Episode 1 of Arabian Nights (episode 2 to follow).

Episode 2 - Lair of Thieves (January 8, 2015)

You enter the hideout of the thieves, by entering the pond right of the city and saying "Open Sesame" which triggers a hidden stone elevator in the shape of a camel head. You are seeking the special lamp that the Sultan said was stolen in episode 1, and you will need to create a special weapon to help you find it.

1) Go right into the den of thieves, where a ritual is being performed. A prisoner is forced to use one of several lamps to release a hidden mystic power. Unfortunately, he chooses the wrong lamp and is apparently destroyed by the mystic statue.

2) Before you can escape, you fall through a broken board, get captured, and are thrown into a cell. Talk to the other prisoner in the next cell, who knows about the Sultan's lamp. But you have to free him from his cell.

3) Push the heavy bed to the right, over a weak part of the stone floor. Jump up until you break through the stone ceiling. In the higher cell, push the Heavy Ball to the right, down through the hole, and it will pull down the wall on the right.

4) Go right and leave the cells. Enter the ritual/treasure chamber where you entered. Do not let any guards or thieves see you. Swim to the sarcophagus in the center of the water. When the gold-counting thief looks away, jump up and grab the White Robe from the statue.

5) Jump to the upper right before you continue right into the next chamber. As you pass, pick up the jar of Quicksilver from the skeleton there.

6) When you find a jar of Black Oil, USE the robe and it will become black. Put it on and you will look just like one of the common thieves. Continue right to see the Crafting Table that the thieves use to make smoke bombs. Climb up and pick up some Gunpowder. (The Head Thief seems preoccupied with her oil lamp.)

6) Head back left toward the cell disguised as a thief. Jump up from the statue, go left above the coin counter, and go up into the top chamber. Climb the ropes to the upper right, and collect some Borax from where two thieves are standing.

7) Go back down, and left to the cells. Near the top left, a head guard will order you back to work. Go above him and find the Viper Skin (the last of 4 ingredients that you will shortly need).

8) Go down, right and up to the old prisoner's cell door. He gives you the formula you need to mix the 4 ingredients.

9) Head all the way back right to the Crafting Table and use the formula by clicking each of the 4 ingredients the number of times indicated: 2 parts gunpowder, 3 parts quicksilver, 1 part viper skin, 2 parts borax. You create the Magic Sand bomb. You can use it to turn stone and wood floors into sand.

10) As you finish, the Head Thief catches you and sets fire to the crafting room, burning up your disguise. Equip the Magic Sand and press the spacebar to use it on the floor (right side) to leave the crafting room.

11) Sneak back to your cell (or just get caught). Exit, climb up, and use the Magic Sand on the floor above the head guard. The heavy ball will fall through, knocking him out, and you get the Cell Key. Use the sand bomb again in your old cell to knock out the guard below the same way.

12) Use the key to release the old prisoner, and go right to the coin counting thief. Sneak up on the left side and toss the sand bomb at his coins, and they will fall into the water, letting you and the prisoner get by him.

13) Go to the statue. At the collection of lamps, pair up the lamps and find the one (only unjeweled) lamp that has no duplicate. This is the Sultan's Lamp.

14) But the Head Thief catches you. The old prisoner pretends to use the real lamp to distract them and is destroyed, so that you can escape. Climb up.

15) Now you have to quickly climb up as the big guard chases you. The rolling barrels and guards will try to stop you. Quickly climb the ropes, and jump the barrels, and jump the guard to reach the rope at left. When you are cornered at the upper right, click the stack of barrels to roll them into the big guard. The boards above will collapse, knocking him out, and you can climb the rest of the way to the exit.

16) Unfortunately, when you press the elevator switch, more guards arrive. You are forced to use the lamp. This being the actual Sultan's Lamp, you are not destroyed, but receive the Island Medallion for episode 2.
