Once you have a powerful fighting ship, you simply sail into the waters around the hidden 6th island (Skullduggery) and battle Captain Crawfish. Only the Phoenix Warbird can outshoot him, and you may need the Shipwright from Dragon Cove and the skilled Cannoneer from the Pirate Outpost.
Once you have all five map pieces, you have to chase off Captain Crawfish (before he sinks, he quickly sails away). The Governor at Fort Ridley will then reveal the location of the Buried Treasure.
(If you try to defeat him with the Steaming Fury, he usually repairs himself just before you finish him off. This has almost no chance of succeeding, whereas the Phoenix Warbird, with the Shipwright and Cannoneer aboard, can prevail much more easily.)
Two Battle Techniques
1) Sail in a circular motion, and try getting closer to him in order to land more hits. Don't let him out of your sight or he will repair himself as you can with the Shipwright. Once you have more health than he does, bump his ship with your ship and it will drain the rest of his health.
2) Sail away from him and shoot straight up as he follows. Your shots will come down on him and he will have little chance to hit you. When he gets low on health, drop your anchor and fight him at point blank range, firing continuously until his health goes to zero and he sails away.

This will occur somewhere between the Pirate Outpost and the new Skullduggery island. Once you beat him, go back to the Governor and he will give you the directions to the buried treasure.

Continue to sink sea monsters and trade among the islands, and buy larger ships, until you have purchased the Phoenix Warbird and have all 4 of the trained crewmen. Then you can engage Captain Crawfish in battle near the new island. Beat him, and you can get the location and treasure instructions from the Governor at Fort Ridley.

well you need to beat other ships to gain not only doubloons but cargo as well. this might depend on your ship if you have the first ship then it might be hard to beat other ships but you know, you can trade cargo for money and you can roam the seas for cargo and money to sell, sorry but i have not found any cheat for this island yet!
