How do you change your gamertag on Xbox live?

Go to marketplace, not sure how many, but it requires gamer points (use a valid credit card), or buy a gamer point card from any store that sells the Xbox 360 system); Then you can change your gamertag, I believe it is 800, but I may be wrong.

First you must have 800 Microsoft points(Bought at any video game store). Then you go to your Xbox 360 dashboard and go to My Xbox. click on the second window and choose change gamertag. It will say you need Microsoft points and then you change your name.

It does cost 800 Microsoft points.

However, if you have in anyway an offensive name, ask players and friends to report it from your profile. It will then let you change it for free,once you have 15 complaints to your gamerscore ( these cannot be seen however)

. For instance mine was STDS 4 YUR MUM, it got reported and i changed it for free. However if your name isn't in the slightest offensive, the xbox live staff will likely ignore it.

Delete your account then make a new gamertag and use the same email address you will have your same friends, messages, achievement points, and xboxlive time.

idk how but i heard that u can change it by getting 15 compaints by going to file complaint profile gamertag and when u get 15 a measage will pop up saying u have to change ur gamertag

You go under My Xbox, click on your profile and Change Gamertag is the fourth option down.

You gan change your gamer tag in the options menu under manage account.

However you have to pay to change it.

many people put a random change, but if you have people report you gamertag xbox will make you change it. try it out it should work.
