you connect to the internet using a ethernet cord and buy xbox live gold or you can get free silver but you cant play online with that

it depends on which xbox you have. I have a new black slim one and it's wireless. But if you have an older on i think you have to plug an ethernet cord into the back of it in order to get on live.
